RE: I really hope the story isn't too predictable
To be honest with the people who are worried about the story...
Stories are like inventions. We have been around for so long that it's almost impossible to do something completely new. Instead, people have to take whats there and then tweak it about so that it becomes there own. So with the LA confidential theory. Sure it could have used some influence from it, but what your forgetting is that it's going to be you in the story, rather than justi watching it on a movie. So buy some elastic trackies, some heart stopping tasty snacks an drinks, and enjoy what could be the best game of 2011 and the best cop game ever made.
L.A. Noire : PS3 Platinum Squad.

Anyone else noticed how at the new trailer this person says that he wants someone dead, and then it shows Cole?

RE: I really hope the story isn't too predictable
Well i said it before, most gta games and red dead always have the twist of "someone on your side the whole time was betraying you", i believe this game will have the exact same thing- ie.you were been played in a heavy rain style way the whole time(by a corrupt force/partner?). i think it will happen...which is fine, i just hope they add another layer to it to change that cliche

RE: I really hope the story isn't too predictable
I had some concerns about the story and a tie to LA Confidential. But that is the main story arc about Cole, but as has been stated in interviews with R*/TB the cases themselves will be like episodes of police procedural shows. It sounds to me like they did a good job of providing a lot of solid, interactive content that isn't directly tied to the "story". I think if done properly this game will be a blast. If anyone other than this groups of developers made LAN I would be concerned this would be a disjointed mess, but I think we're in for a real treat.

It takes place in the '60s, and is a drama about ad agencies. "A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper." - IMDb More than 5 actors from the show Mad Men are present in L.A. Noire. Not including Aaron Staton, who plays Cole Phelps. There must be like 8 Mad Men actors signed on. I know Patrick Fischler, who plays Mickey Cohen in LAN was on Mad Men. Patrick Fischler was also on a bunch of other cop and crime shows, including Southland.
