I have seen cabs in screenshots weather you can get a ride in one i dont know, not sure about trams and buses either.

How was skipping cab rides pointless?

Because the Ai sucked balls, you could get to your destination faster by manually driving, and it is a great way to play the game.

Remember- you play the game. Don't let the game play you.
