RE: LCD or Plasma TV for Gaming?
Minute Made and dirty ass pans FTW!

A note on burn-in: I think it's pretty much solved, this TV is about 5 years old, and I leave it on the XBox dashboard with the XBox menu up watching who's online for hours while I play on the computer. No issues at all.

RE: LCD or Plasma TV for Gaming?
Well. If you want an awesome, deep and accurate colors, great black levels, excellent picture motion and free view angles. Go for plasma!

But if you want want picture clouding, backlight bleeding, a black what is actually a gray, restricted view angles, poor picture motion go for LCD.

Big Grin

Of course, Plasmas have also a few weak points. If you can't control the light what comes to the room, then you might suffer annoying glares on the screen and washed out image. But I guess that everyone have somekind of curtains in the room where the TV is.

But the biggest prejudice what people have is that Plasmas burn image. Nowadays it's very hard to burn image to your plasma screen. So it's quite a rare thing.

Image retention i.e. "temporary image burn" is possible if you leave static image for long time on the screen. But it will fade out completely after watching something else.

Also the power consumption isn't so big issue anymore. So your room isn't gonna heat up like a sauna.

Plasmas really suits for gaming. No doubt for that. I have owned LCD tv's and have now 50" Plasma. I wouldn't change it for LCD, no way. It has so much better picture quality and motion. And I haven't had any problems for playing games with plasma.

Well, it could be a big problem if you can't control the amount of sunlight in the room. In that case plasmas aren't an option. Sadly. Though more expensive plasma models have anti-glare filters, but don't know how well those work.

I can dim my living room very well, so there is no any issue. Otherwise I should have also pick LCD. LED's cost still way too much. You can't get a big screen with a fair amount of money yet. Confused

Plasmas arent good for gaming cuz if the screen doesnt change for a while (Like if u press pause and then leave the tv for a little while) then the image will get burnt into the screen.

Well, you don't know what you're talking about. You obviously don't have any knowledge nowadays plasmas.

It may cause temporary image burn = image retention. Which will go away. But it's very rare that you can anymore actually make persistent image burn. Even if you leave static image for hours.

So please, don't make those false accusations.

I'm a big fan of "mighty" weapons because they'll allow for further customization based solely around the Weapons Master passive.

RE: LCD or Plasma TV for Gaming?
I prefer plasma. Because it has a good contrast ratio than LCDs. With the technology difference plasmas also durable more than LCDs. The only disadvantage is plasmas getting heat more than LCDs.
