RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
glad i getting mine on the ps3 instead of my xbox, tired of my xbox still having laggy loading issues with textures on big games like rdr does even when it is installed but don't seem to happen with my ps3 but could be cuz i haven't upgraded to the the new 360 yet but i did upgrade to the ps3 slim already.

I dont what the hell the ps3ers keep talking about. The slim has fixed everything they whined about. If your an xbox owner, you have to have the slim hands down. Its REALLY sad that the disc issue is a deal breaker for people. Just think of it as watching a movie marathon, you got to get up to change the disc to the next movie once its over (unless you have a dvd player with a disc changer) Thats a good idea for the xbox 720! A disc changer! I could care less if they stuck with DvD, its fine in my opinion

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
You only change discs when part of the story is over. If the story lasts 24 hours, you have to change discs every 8 hours. If you spent the same amount of time watching two seasons of CSI on Blu-ray, you'd change discs 9 or 10 times.

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
^ The maximum game content a 360 DVD can hold is 6.8GB, so the total over the three discs would be up to 20.4GB.

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
^Don't forget part of that 20.4GB is three copies of the same data: the map, models, audio, and programming that make the game run on each disc.
If the PS3 version is 26GB, that's a lot more than the total of unique data on the three 360 discs. |

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
I read somewhere that the PS3 install is only like 1.6 gb. Weird if that's true. I figured it would be 10 at least.

It were quite the bummer when you reached disk 11 and got a read & write error. On topic: I have both an Xbox and a PS3 and I'm so not sure which one to buy it for. The recent PSN problems have me leaning towards the Xbox, but the 3 disk thing has me leaning towards the PS3. I might wait till after release and see if people report issues with any of the 2 versions. Games usually tend to run better on one of the consoles, for some reason. The following is taken from allaboutthegames.co.uk Fans of Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 constantly attempt to one-up each other with claims that their respective consoles perform better than their flame-war opponents'. And popular games such as the much anticipated L.A. Noire are bound to stimulate debate and cause one or two arguments on forums across the internet. And so, with all of that in mind, should we read anything into the fact that Rockstar Games chose footage from the PlayStation 3 version of L.A. Noire in its first official gameplay trailer? The trailer clearly references the famous square, triangle, circle and X buttons synonymous with Sony's dualshock controller. So does this mean the game performs better on the PlayStation 3? Traditionally, developers have tended to lead on one platform over the other, with the majority first developing on 360 before porting over to Sony's PS3 - apart from a few notable exceptions. If you remember back to when the game was first announced, L.A. Noire was originally mooted as a PS3 exclusive which strongly suggests it was the lead platform, and history dictates that games ported this way around tend to perform poorly on the Xbox 360. But, if anyone has the resources to buck that trend it's Rockstar Games, so we'll cross our fingers and hope both versions run flawlessly. Especially after the recent furore surrounding the PS3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops with its alleged terrible online play, compared with the Xbox 360's seemingly perfect online. We'll know more once we get our hands on the game in the coming months, but in the meantime we'll continue to stir this melting pot for all it's worth. |

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
@jobs I'd get it for the PS3 because there is an exclusive case called The Consuls Car.
Not sure if it needs to be downloaded or not. Plus it's all on one disc. |

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
PSN being down has not in any way made me think of buying the 360 version.
Since this game is not a multiplayer game ( i dont care about leader boards, stats, etc.. since they just make people show how big there ego is) it means that PSN wont be important and I would prefer waiting a week or two to download A DLC that has no relevance to the story OVER having to swap a disk 2/3 time JUST to play one game and to continue the story. I dont meant to should like a fanboy but thats the way i look at it. |

Why the heck did I not think of that fact. I'm just so used to every game being so dependant on online services these days. I guess I'll dust off my PS3 and buy it for that one. Thanks for the awakening kick there. |

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
to be honest i like the fact that its on 3 disc's...it makes it more unique i guess.....and they wouldnt just put u on another disc halfway through a mission...and if its on 3 discs, when i finish the game i can chose to go back to chapters on the other disc's? maybe?

Regarding the PSN thing:
The PSN has already started to come back online - it's online here (Scotland) at least, and several states in the US I think. So most of us will still be able to get the DLC on launch day

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
I'd think PS3 version would be the best (I'm an Xbox man myself). The game was developed on PS3, comparison screenshots look better on PS3, and reviews have stated PS3 is better graphically with less framerate issues. I don't think the differences matter much though, as you get used to whatever you have. Of course, I haven't seen PS3 so I don't know really.

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
Since the game isn't coming out on PC (yet, dont know if it will) I get it on the Xbox. I dont have a PS3, and even if it would be nice to have one, I dont really see the need. The disc issue isn't a dealbreaker in any direction for me.
I dont plan to do a marathon play, and even if I did, I would still have to get up from my seat to grab food or do bathroom breaks. Getting up to change disks isn't a issue. |

RE: LA noire on 3 disks on the Xbox 360
I had to change discs for the first time last night, right after the first homicide case. No big deal at all.
One big problem for PS3 right now is no PSN, so no intuition, according to my PS3 friend. Sucks. |
