L.A. Noire: Exclusive Fansite Preview Event

^ To the mods, I keep hearing the word "embargo" used by certain gaming outlets as to not being able to speak further about LAN, is their a certain date when the gaming media is able to divulge further details about the game, and its final build. I assume that this embargo would end shorly, at the one week mark maybe this comingTuesday. Maybe a final trailer also next Thursday, and or reviews coming in at that time.

Typically publishers will send out review copies prior to release. Sometimes this version is the final build/retail version, other times it's a little older. Reviews will then be written but an embargo put in place to ensure no one site/magazine has an artifical exclusive, amongst other things. There are complexities in the mix as well, but that's the gist.

As for the actual date when it's lifted, if you've seen the embargo mentioned but not a specific date then that might be secret as well for the moment. Some reviews of Red Dead were being published on the 17th of May last year - the game's release date was the 18th in the US and 21st in Europe - but this is a different game, so who knows? Next weekend perhaps... we'll just have to wait and see.
