I really can't describe what I just have seen in this amazing trailer. For the first time in my video gaming life, I have felt the emotion and the deed of the characters coming out and appear on their faces like If I'm watching a movie. I played games such as Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain, but they are nothing compared to this anymore in terms of the facial animations , in fact, I can't believe that I was deceived by the fake animations of Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain.

I'm glad that the release date is in spring of 2011, that means we will get it within the next 4-7 months.

I knew Team Bondi's facial capture technology would be good, but I never imagined it would be that good. I mean seriously, it's actually kinda breath taking.

The effect this is going to have on how we relate to the characters and how immersed we feel in the storyline is immense.

Also, I'm totally digging the new logo!

Wow, just wow. I've never seen facial/speech animations like that in any game before. It will definitely help us identify with our characters and the rest of the cast a lot more than in game slike GTA etc.

The style of the era has been nailed perfectly, hats off!

P.S For some reason I find the new logo very seedy, which I like.

Very nice trailer. Glad that the game is looking as good as it is and the facial animations are just stunning.

I also like that the trailer didn't appear to touch at all on the main narrative and just seemed to focus more on what we can do.

As it was revealed before, the trailer shows our protagonist, Cole Phelps, in different police suits which represent different ranks. For Example, between the second 27-29, you can clearly see Cole wearing the regular blue clothes of an officer, meaning that he's still in the lowest rank. The old man that asks him: "Do you think you might be ready for that?", maybe is the chief of police asking him if he's ready or not to take a higher responsibility in the department and that's by start investigating crimes himself. That means he will be promoted to the next rank which is "Detective".

During the second 55-57, the same scene that was shown between 27-29, is being completed, and this time the old man says to Cole: "This is your chance, don't fail me". It's clear that this old man recommended Cole to investigate his first crime, and he wants to make sure that Cole won't disappoint him which might hurt the reputation of the department.

I was a bit confused by the vibe the trailer was trying to give off. Is this game supposed to be a girtty crime story or a kind of lighthearted romp?
The original teaser had this kind of melancholic music at the end that gave it a very noirish vibe. But this trailer confused me a little in regards to the atmosphere they wish to create.
And whils the facial animation was great, I just wish it was a little bit darker, a bit more grim.

You need to know that the teaser that was released in 2006, wasn't an actual footage from the game. It was used a technology called "real-time global illumination" to create that footage, so you can't compare the look of the game at the time with its look in the current build since the new trailer shows the game running on its engine not some CGI footage.

The primary goal of the new trailer is to give the players a small glimpse of the revolutionary technology of the facial animations, so they used different scenes from the game to show how the facial expressions look different from each other based on the reaction or the action of the characters. These scenes require more lighthearted and ranting music, unlike the 2006's teaser which had scenes that were quiet in nature, so that's why the music was melancholic to fit the scenes.

There's no doubt that the final game will present dark sides in terms of the story, the environment and the music.

Edit: By the way, I have noticed that the old man that I'm referring to in my above post, looks like Liam Neeson in terms of the look, the facial expressions and the voice. Anyone else thinks he might be playing the role?

It's really unbelievable that we have reached to this level in video gaming in which we can easily tell whose person/actor is playing the role just by looking at the facial expressions.

It seems so awesome, after seeing the trailer I think you might actually get a price on your head how further you progress into the game.
Still the graphics are amazing, I can't wait to have a go at it.

I can see where you're coming from, yeah -- the nose and eyes are very similar.

I don't know if anybody agrees with me here, but I personally can see a slight resemblance to Gary Lewis, in terms of looks, mannerisms and accent.

I'm still insisting that he looks more similar to Liam Neeson than the actor that you have presented. The similarities aren't limited within the eyes and the nose but they also look similar in terms of the shape of the ear, wrinkles, the shape of the brow's hair and the color of the eye's lens. Even the way he talks and how his whole facial thing moves is very similar if not correspondence to Liam Neeson.
