RE: First Trailer Released!
After examining the picture I must say the guy really looks like Liam Neeson. I'm not sure about the voice yet, but they appear similar (atleast in my head they do).

The similarities aren't limited within the eyes and the nose but they also look similar in terms of the shape of the ear, wrinkles, the shape of the brow's hair and the color of the eye's lens. Even the way he talks and how his whole facial thing moves is very similar if not correspondence to Liam Neeson.I'm not saying Gary Lewis resembles him more than Liam Neeson, I'm just saying I can see a slight resemblance. I saw him in Gangs of New York last night and thought that he looked, sounded and acted pretty similar to the guy in the trailer, so seeing as you were on the subject, I thought I would post him. I don't think Gary Lewis voiced the guy or anything, I was just trying to encourage discussion. But yeah, he does look very similar to Liam Neeson, I'm not denying that; however, I just don't think it's him. ![]() ~ Currently reading: A History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell ~ ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! ~ |

RE: First Trailer Released!
I understand your position now. Anyway, I did a little research and found that Liam Nesson played a major role in Fallout 3, he was the voice actor of the protagonist's father.
So, it's not hard to think that he might have been working with Team Bondi to play the role of that old man who I believe is the chief of the police. I think his personality and his voice fit the character very well. |

RE: First Trailer Released!
The guy at around 26 seconds looks like Prince Charles. That is all...
Aside from that the trailer looks quality. |

RE: First Trailer Released!
....Unless you paid attention to his accent
![]() This isn't a debate. Liam Neeson and the old man are very compatible facially, but what about the accent? Liam is Irish, so he has an Irish accent as same as the old man, even the intensity of the sound is compatible. I have read a couple of posts around the internet, commenting on the old man's voice, all of them are wondering: "Is that Liam Neeson? Did I just hear Liam Neeson's voice?". |

RE: First Trailer Released!
A lot of people still don't realize that a lot of gameplay scenes were shown in the trailer. Most if not all of the interrogation and interview scenes were captured directly from the gameplay because that's how the game works. You take suspects to the interview room and starts interviewing them, you ask questions and so on. Also, they have shown some gameplay scenes during collecting evidences in the crime scene, one of them is when Cole picks up a knife stained with blood.

Didn't they say everything depends on the evidence you find. I can already feel the frustration when I'll be interrogating a suspect and then realising I don't actually have conclusive evidence which means I won't get the suspect to confess and I'll have to start all over again. |

RE: First Trailer Released!
I bet there was videoclips from game but like gameplay, u know? and u think theres same system than in poor mafia 2 that it comes like 1942 and 2 mission forward --> 1944 4 mission forward --> 1948 and that way.. like you jump to year to year. that is annoying. it makes a feeling that you have to hurry somewhere etc.

Everything there felt rushed, but I found the fourties great. I don't really think they'll be using this kind of system though. |

You take suspects to the interview room and starts interviewing them, you ask questions and so on. Also, they have shown some gameplay scenes during collecting evidences in the crime scene, one of them is when Cole picks up a knife stained with blood. According to the first reveal of the game by number of magazines such as Game Informer, yes, everything depend on the evidences that you collect and the facts that you figure out. We will not be guided step by step by the level designers while we investigate a crime scene, instead you are the one who decides which item to collect and whether it's relevant or not and whether it's important or not and so on. This factor and other factors can lead you to different directions in the investigation, one of them can lead to failure, but I still don't know whether there will be "Mission failed" since there hasn't been a confirmation or more clarification about that. This is from Game Informemr's article: Quote:Walking around, Phelps gathers more clues from the scene, showing off another of L.A. Noire’s important features. Instead of finding simple items that sit on top of tables with an otherworldly glow around them, this game forces you to use your powers of observation to gather information. Thousands of period items have been fully modeled, and can be manipulated by the player. Near the car, Phelps sees a pair of broken glasses and a wallet. Opening the wallet, he pulls out the various cards and photos, jotting down White’s address while noting a picture of White and his wife in happier times and the name brand of the glasses. Phelps picks up the bloody pipe, rotating it around to view the inscription “Instaheat.” Elsewhere, he sees a receipt for one live pig purchased by an A. Hogan. (Source) I recommend reading the whole article Regarding MAFIA II's approach to level design, according to one of the previews of L.A Noire that were published during the first reveal period, L.A Noire's system works similar to MAFIA II, meaning that the story will be told in a number of chapters, every chapter ends by a chase and as soon as a chapter ends, the next one starts. I think it's an excellent system for story-driven games. We still have a very primitive idea of how L.A Noire really works in terms of level design. There should be more information soon that will give us more insight. To support my claim above about the trailer and whether it showed gameplay scenes or not: Quote:While the game has moved on in leaps and bounds since then (look for lots of new information soon - including a whole new round of previews happening later this week), the story discusses the ambitions for the game, and gives insight to the revolutionary performance capture technology behind L.A. Noire's stunningly lifelike faces - that go beyond traditional motion capture to recreate an actor's true performances as you play throughout the entire game - without CGI, during gameplay, and not restricted to cutscenes. Another thing, are they saying that the new information will be included in the new round of previews later this week? I hope for new information rather than repeating the same thing that have been on the internet since the first reveal. |

I do believe LA Noire will be the most exciting game of 2011. With Spring targeted, the four months or so will be amazing, due to the sheer influx of new info and advertising about such a promising game. |

This is going to be, simply amazing. Beyond any sort of recognition, and probably beyond any other detective game. Seriously, I am getting more and more hyped about this every minute.

Some guys at G4TV did a slow-motion analysis of the trailer frame by frame, in their attempt to uncover some undiscovered or unnoticed details in the trailer.

Nice find, man. But I think they forgot to mention the Midnight Manhunt film. I also agree with them about the commercial brands. The name of the brands are very unique, just like the GTA's (e.g. Burger Shot, Sprunk).
