I dunno, I've been a fan of Dane Cook for a very long time, but just recently he made a joke about the Colorado Theater shooting that was extremely distasteful, and he's not exactly my favorite now. I still enjoy his stand up though.
A second would be Robin Williams. I'm not a fan of his acting, but his stand up is hilarious. I'd say him and Bill Murray tie for second
And last but not least, like others have suggested, Andy Griffith. I've always sat down with my family and watched the Andy Griffith Show for years, and was actually quite sad when I read he passed away.
Edit: Oh, and I forgot Jim Carrey. Loved the Mask, Ace Ventura, and the Cable Guy. He's awesome.
