L.A. Noire freeze issue
Hi all,
I have an issue that no-one could solve up to now...I looked everywhere and i found no solution. The game freezes when the refresh symbol shows up, after the Team Bondi logo. I read that it might be a problem of Net Framework, so i followed the instructions I found but it didn't solved anything.

Quote:For Windows 7 64-bit, the game locks up as soon as the synchronization (refresh) symbol shows up, which is right after the Team Bondi logo. This is because the game is incompatible with the system's copy of .Net 3.5. This is also why the .Net installer provided won't run. To fix this:
Go to Programs and Features.
Select Turn Windows Features On or Off
UNCHECK Microsoft Framework 3.5.1
Click OK. .Net 3.5 will be disabled and the user must restart.
On next reboot, go back and CHECK Microsoft Framework 3.5.1. This will reinstall .Net 3.5 and correct the issue.
If this does not work, run the .Net framework clean-up tool then repeat the above steps.

I have Windows Vista 64, not Windows 7, but I hoped it would work on Vista too. Now I have no idea what to do...I tried many times to reinstall the game, but it won't work. I updated all grahpic drivers and DirectX, but it still won't work.

RE: L.A. Noire freeze issue
Hi Dim,

I had already updated L.A. Noire to v1.3, L.A.Noire 1.3.2613 Update, but the problem persists. The game doesn't launch...it doesn't crash, it just freezes with black screen and the white symbol.

RE: L.A. Noire freeze issue
Hmm, I did do the .Net puzzle described here:
http://support.rockstargames.com/entries...-l-a-noire , including the version check tool to make sure.
And my game is now installed in c:/lanoire, not in the program files.
Don't know if this is crucial, maybe give it a try?

Good luck

RE: L.A. Noire freeze issue
Yeah, I'm having the exact same problem. I've completely verified that all the 3rd party programs the game needs are successfully installed on my computer, but the game is still just freezing with the black screen and while loading symbol after the "team bondi" splash. I'm running the game through steam and have verified the cache several times, and nothing seems to be wrong there either. Have no clue what on earth the issue could be. None of rockstar's suggestions have worked.

RE: L.A. Noire freeze issue
So no one in the world knows how to fix this bug...

Why did they post this

if it does not work? For me it doesn't work. I wonder how did Rockstar react when heard that a lot of people can't play because of their indifference. They're happy because they got the money I guess Angry
Absolutely no one could fix it?

RE: L.A. Noire freeze issue
I've managed to resolve this on Windows 8 Pro x64.

Well i actually can't verify what helped, but i have two solutions more:

1. Windows Update - always update your system. I've had two updates for .net 3.5 .
2. Run launcher, then go to options and on the bottom you have command line.
Write there: -str
Then run La Noire.

Hope it can help.
