PC technical issues (game basically refuses to work)

Hi, I joined up here because I took advantage of Amazons deal on L.A. Noire recently. I was going to get this on 360 but couldn't pass up that price for PC.

My issue is that the game doesn't kick into the menu at all. I get the R logo movie, Team Bondi movie, then CTD. I've contacted Rockstar with that information but am not hopeful they will help any. I don't normally have any issues with other games. I installed all the required stuff beforehand (C++ 2008, .NET framework, etc.). Even tried manually patching the install since I can't even get to the menu to try and patch the game. Heard version 1.2 has helped others, but since the patch files are not readily available, what's the point?

I saw the bad reviews on Amazon with all of the issues, but figured I could navigate around any problems, if they happened at all. I should have known once .NET, C++ 2008 and other things like that could be the problem I should have stayed away....

System:

Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 925
NVIDIA Geforce 460
8 GB RAM

All drivers, etc. updated.

Oh your are having a Great System but what about the video graphic card ..

I have an XP SP3 install, and an Nvida 9600 Card, should run. I cant get the menu. I get the LOGO, and then the message lower right that it is looking for downloadable content, i am logged into the social club and Game LIVE but nothing happens. any suggestions? i will try support soon but am trying to see if i can get it to work.

Well for the big game you have to install video card and a 8 gb ram and graphic card then your game is working great way..........

you are saying we need TWO video cards? that is nuts...if so. If i can run Mafia II and Skyrim i expected i should be able to run LA Noire...but the game just sits there ..the car wont move....

update: after another reinstall, updating drivers and clearing more room on the HD the game is working and i have started the adventure. glad it finally worked. Thank you Techs at RSG...and posts here.
