Game Refusing To Save

I haven't found a single solution anywhere else so hopefully one of you knows something about this.

SO I had the original version of LA Noire, finished it, and just came across a copy of the complete edition. So, I traded the old one for it.

Went back to my trusty xbox to play, and I guess my save file from the old game doesn't work with this one. So I thought OKAY COOL I was going to replay it anyways, to five star all the cases.

I started to play, fell asleep, then when I went to load the game I already started, it was still the only option I had was for a new game. I figured I hadn't gone far enough for it to auto save, I went as far as walking down the first alley in the game before I knocked out.

Started again, blah blah, played for a few hours, got to an auto save point (and yes it said "saving" in the corner) quit, went back to the menu and there was STILL no save file. Just "New".

It's not my xbox, everything else saves just fine and it's new anyways.

Soo.. yeah. Help?

When you start a new game does it ask you to pick a save slot? I can't remember off the top of my head if it's possible to skip that step. Seems unlikely though as the game says it's saving.

The only other thing I can think of at the moment is to clear your 360's cache. From your xbox dashboard go to Settings > System > Storage, move down to Hard Drive and press Y to bring up Device Options and select Clear System Cache.
