Free Roam?
Can you free roam the city after completing all cases?

Yes, once all the cases for a desk have been completed you can select 'Streets of L.A.' from the desk's folder under 'Cases' on the main menu.

Once completed does the roaming increase past the road barriers ? Can you go outside of the
map area. Looks like the old GTA where when you get so far, the bridges open up to other areas of the sandbox. |

No, unlike the GTA games, L.A. Noire's map is entirely open from the start rather than unlocked as you progress. The barriers in the game are there to keep the player within the limits of the map and don't get removed.
