The suits and ties!
I was looking at the footprints on Roy's tie and started thinking about just how ugly suits and ties were back then. Plaid, checkered, blue, ties with many loud colors. Big Grin

I love the fedoras though, too bad those went out of style.

Always been my dream to be a wanna be Bogart! Big Grin

Fedoras have NOT gone out of style!
Neither have those weird hats that are kinda flat (I have one, just don't know what they are called).

I too liked the fashion style back then. The suits, the hats, the ties, the women get all dolled up, etc. Everything seemed more classy and formal.

Even the casual wear is nice: pleated pants with a tight fitting polo shirt.

I actually kinda liked the suits. Some of the colors and patterns were a little bit unsightly, but for the most part they look badass.

Any hat other than a baseball cap today is going to make you stand out in a crowd. Back then, you stood out if you didn't have a hat. ("Suspect is hatless, I repeat, hatless" on the radio could have been a cute Simpsons reference Easter egg.)

RE: The suits and ties!
I was thinking of starting a thread on things that you think are modified for the game. And ties are definitely one.
I'm not a history professor but I'm pretty sure there were no colorful ties like the ones some of the characters wear. Kelso's red, white and blue one is the best example -- what is he? Captain America? Yes. And I know the game developers needed to colour up the game somehow but the ties are a bit much.

I'm not so sure about the two-tone suits either. I can't say I've seen jackets like that in any of the films I've watched.

I don't think Kelso, a veteran, wearing a patriotic tie after the conclusion of WWII is THAT much of a stretch.

RE: The suits and ties!
People wanted some extravagance after as war rationing ended and a necktie was a relatively inexpensive way to change the mood. There was some pretty loud, cheery stuff clashing with buttoned-down conservatism and conformity.
Neckties
Remember it's the late 40s and will soon be the 50s and styles overlap between decades. It's hard to tell late 80s from early 90s, for example.

The Chicago Lightning is so awesome, I would wear it to a funeral. "Let's see, black, black, black, gray, black, black... WHITE? What the hell?"

Good post nem wan. I stand corrected. I did have a quick net search this morning but found nothing like that. I was going on what I'd seen from movies.

RE: The suits and ties!
I actually liked all the suits except for Roy's and Cole's Sunset Strip outfit.
Sheldon's jacket just made me laugh and I personally think that Jack Kelso had the coolest suit. I'd wear that, I mean, I'd look like a clown, but I'd wear it.
Stefan had a great suit too, as did Herschel.

...Now I realise I seem weird, by calling the partners by their first names, as if I personally know them....

RE: The suits and ties!
I liked every outfit except the Hawkshaw, just doesn't really seem like a suit, actually. It seems it would only be good for walking around the station, or around your hous (that is, if you could go there).
I hope they release all your partners outfits as DLC (and, of course, the beat cop).

Hats seem to be making a come back, I was just in Chicago and I saw a bunch of people wearing them. I think they're really cool.

I actually love it! I have some vintage ties from that tie period. Google search peek a boo ties sometime.... My profession requires that I wear a suit every day, I try and wear fedoras or straw hats a few times a week and I get compliments everywhere I go. Granted some styles are a bit much, but I love three piece suit, and light, bright colors in the spring and summer months. I have a coat and tie combo that come VERY close to the Broderick and a matching hat. Coincidentally, I had this before the game came out.

RE: The suits and ties!
I hope I get a great job requiring a suit... I'm 14, and I caught myself looking a some at Kohls.

I want to wear something similar to the Chicago Lightning or Golden Boy outfits (I want to be a writer, and do some military service for money)

Honestly, I liked the Hawkshaw a ton. Only thing better would of been a strong side external holster. Like his gun under his armpit? That would of been sweet. I like the tough look of the suit. The outsider is one of my favorites as well.

Oh, btw, i'm new. Hello everyone lol.
