Gripping stuff, I'm sure. Still, a timed exclusivity deal with one publisher is hardly getting systematically content earlier.

I have both PS3 and Xbox. But yes, it should be free.

I had an Xbox 360 with xbox live. I payed 300 for the system. Then another 120 for wireless. 30 for a headset. Then another 60 for membership for a month. After about a year... it got the red ring of death. (No blu ray btw)

Now I have a PS3. I spent 300 for the system. Nothing for headset because I can use a bluetooth. Nothing for online. (BLU RAY)

Who wins?

Microsoft is greedy beyond belief. I've had Xbox Live and PSN. There really isn't much of a difference between the two. Not 60 bucks difference.

I don't think it should be free but maybe a little cheaper. But still, $50 a year is not much.

No. Maybe make it a bit cheaper, but not entirely free. As the saying goes "You only get what you pay for" and in regards to Live it couldn't be truer. I own a 360 and a PS3, but I prefer Live.

At least you don't have to pay to use the marketplace. I think that would be a stretch, but paying to play online isn't that bad. Funnily enough I've been a 360 owner since 2009 and I only just recently just got my first 3 months of gold. Worth every cent IMO.
