RE: Black dahlia case thread
The black dahlia case is a part of L.A. Noire!
Watch the second Trailer (again) and then take a look at this site:
http://www.stevehodel.com/hodel-gallery.htm
and you'll find

RE: Black dahlia case thread
I think Joem1k meant the actual "Black Dahlia" murder of Elizabeth Short. Jeanne French's murder is in the game, or at least a case that's probably based on it is (BD written on body etc. - although it was actually PD written on French's body according to the coroner).

The two murders are not likely linked though. The M.O. was different - the body was found at the murder scene rather than moved, kicked in the face rather than cut, not drained of blood and cleaned and so on.

RE: Black dahlia case thread
This case is not in list of dlc cases. I don't think people forgot Black dahlia case easily. This is one of the historical case in-fact that murder rocked the city like an 8.0 earthquake.

Brendan McNamara on The Black Dahlia in L.A. Noire:

Quote:The Black Dahlia case provides more of a backdrop and sets the tone instead of being a case that Phelps gets involved directly in.

RE: Black dahlia case thread
Holy shit, that is one nasty murder.

I think it will probably get a mention... Although Phelps won't directly investigate the murder (going to the crime scene etc) he may be asked to do certain things for the investigation that are not direct to it. Or there will be other missions based around this case.

.. Damn.. That is just fucked. ph34r

RE: Black dahlia case thread
I still think the Homicide desk would've been better served if the cases were standalone and one of them was the BD case.

I think they had poor execution of the serial killer angle.

RE: Black dahlia case thread
I too wish the Black Dahlia case had been handled differently. It should have ended with false leads or the murderer escaping or something that prevented the murderer from getting caught or killed. They really could have squeezed a lot out of that case but for whatever reason, they decided not to. It would have been more interesting to have the Dahlia case murderer pop up in the story from time to time.

RE: Black dahlia case thread
ok I was warned but I was so interested in that case that I had to google it and my god!!! I'm glad that they decided to make it a little bit less gross!
I mean kill someone that happend before but her upper and lower body were seperated!

I don't want to give any spoilers but the ending of that case freaked me out completely!

RE: Black dahlia case thread
I did like the angle of concentrating on the "Wolfman" serial killer, or otherwise known as the "Black Dahlia killer", but I agree, the ending of that entire grouping of cases was dissatisfying. I would have rather had a cliffhanger of some sort, or it not being a happy ending and we caught the bad guy. I mean, is just doesn't sit right.

I loved working on the Homicide cases, but I feel there wasn't enough. There could have most definitely been more detail and messing with our heads. Possibly more cases too in reference to other killings in L.A. at that time would have been awesome.

Also, checking out "The Black Dahlia" by James Ellroy gives some more of a taste of what it was like and illustrates the case better. Definitely be careful when checking out those pictures. Definitely something that you can't shake off your mind..
