Mapping enterable buildings
Right now I'm mapping the buildings I come across that you can enter and places of interest (does not include landmarks). Im only using ones that are accessible in free roam, yes I realise that if I was to try and get every single one it would be near impossible but I want to get a decent amount atleast.
Also does anyone have a good blank map template? Feel free to add to this it will be greatly appreciated and I'll need as much help as possible ![]() Very sorry if someone is doing this / suggested it beofre [/size]

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Cool idea, although why?
Most buildings you enter in free roam have no reason to enter in first place, unless you theres a newspaper to collect but then after that. I respect what you are doing, just curious though

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Some buildings are pretty nice on the inside like small and simple things from diners to banks. I think it would be a nice thing to have or something to do for burning time in freeroam. Im not sure how many but I think a few are based around the actual building I found this out on 1 or 2 when I just googled their name and it came up with a picture like it / location

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
There is a Trashed Apartment you can get into that has not been used in any case or street crime, you can find it on Vermont St. look for the mailboxes next to the Acme bookstore and use the stairs o go up, then take a right turn and it's the first apartment. It's betwen 1st st. and council st. on the left side when coming from the wilshire police station.

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Since entire desks were cut from the game, there are probably locations that would have been used in those cases. The map would have been under development before the decision to cut the cases was made. Cutting the cases' MotionScan recordings and audio would free up most of the disc space and they'd probably leave the interiors in.

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
An interactive map would be good. If I could get my head around the Google Maps API I'd give it a go, but I don't really have time to work it all out at the moment.

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
I'm doing the same thing my man....I get what ya mean though, I just like to drive around the city going to all the fun places, pretending basically. right now I've mapped 55 interiors, and about 60 something interesting/real places.

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Great idea. I really like the detail they've put into the building interiors.
But again, I keep thinking of how good multiplayer would be in this city. Your map would be 10 times more useful then. |

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
yeah, no doubt. I think if they added multi-player it would benefit re-playability greatly. I understand that people are against it because it doesn't correlate with the story, but how about having some suspension of disbelief for the sake of a game. also, I think it would be cool if they made mini games; like bowling, pool, racing (it would be awesome in this city), and others. all the buildings are already there for it. I understand this isn't GTA, and I'm ok with that, the game is great, but they shouldn't purposely lose out on all the fun features just because they are trying to be different.

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
hey guys,
Adriaan here. Those of you old school GTAForums guys will remember me from that site and gta4.net when i was staff. I've put up an interactive L.A. Noire map last week at IGN, similar to the one we launched alongside GTA IV's release at http://gta.ign.com . Currently, it's not fully open to the public yet for submissions due to technical reasons, and will only be fully open after E3. http://lanoire.ign.com/maps/4/Los-Angeles-Map However, until that pending markers map becomes available to me (which i'll use to review user submitted markers), I can approve limited ones from the database. So if you'd like to start out so long, send me a private message with your IGN username (just the username), and I can look it up and slowly start to approve your submissions. Right now all official ones are marked, however, there's an unofficial category for interesting landmarks and buildings with interiors. I've already added a few interesting historical theaters to the map, and fellow site staffer Jesse will update them soon with high resolution screenshots from his capture card (right now they're silly cellphone pictures). So feel free to help out! But again, I can only handle in limited numbers for now, so pm me first before you start adding markers. I'll update everyone when it becomes fully available to everyone for submissions. |

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Hey Adriaan, I don't have an Ign account...but I've documented about 70 interiors that I could give to you if you want to submit them onto your map. I also have done like you and documented interesting places like theatres, construction yards, fun jumps, racetracks, etc. So if you'd like any of them just let me know, and I'll post what I have. I'm still finding as many as I can, so they'll be plenty more I'm sure. I love your interactive map by the way, it's great. on suggestion for the L.A. Noire wiki page though, on the cases page, when you talk about the different places you have to go, if you could add where it is it would be greatly appreciated (I didn't think about documenting interiors until half way through the game and am not going back to replay them at this point)

RE: Mapping enterable buildings
Hey Everybody, the time has came, and I'm here to post my L.A. Noire Database. I successfully documented around 105 building interiors, and will continue to do so, as I'm sure I didn't get them all. Also, the list will include interesting places, like landmarks such as theatres, historic buildings, etc; Fun places to go and ride around, Jumps and what else have you. I'm aware I didn't get all the interiors, like peoples houses and certain places in cases *(I didn't start documenting until about third of the way through) I didn't think you could re-enter houses, but it seems you can. So feel free to add places I've missed, as I would love to put them to the collection. enjoy
