Overheat Problem

I'm about halfway through my second play through and I still don't have a problem.

My 80GFat won't last for 4 or 5 minutes with this game. It's not getting hot, just beeps & shuts down with red flashing light. Maybe that is the signal for overheat, but i can guarantee mine is not hot. It also plays everything else flawlessly for hours. I've seen some others having this problem and showing it on youtube vids. its identical to my problem. I hate wasting $60 for a game that is meant for a PS4 and not the PS3 it states.

At first I thought my PS3's number was up, but then I pop in my older games like WWE Smackdown vs Raw, Fallout New Vegas, and all three Assassin's Creed games. They work fine and they can run for quite a while and the game won't shut off on its own, but as soon as I pop in LA Noire even after letting the system cool off it gives me the overheat error thing.

Does anyone else get this problem? Is it maybe the sheer size of it is too much for my PS3? I'm pretty sure New Vegas has large computing requirements too, and it runs fine. Any solutions, or any news on if a patch is coming out to fix this?

i got the xbox 360 version and i had no heat issues

Again, my PS3 still works. It just shuts off when it plays LA Noire. I'm doing everything I can to make it work.

I'd rather not sell my PS3, this is one of the few working ones that also plays PS2 games.

I've just started to have the same issue, tried to reload my 'save element' of the game last night and the system freezes with the load icon remaining static rather than flashing and then it just hangs or it will load up and then freezes on the cut scene resulting in my having to switch the PS3 off. I have the original 60GB PS3 also. It looks like i may have to restart the game.

I cant stand it, i'm hating this game. I'm Hating Rockstar and Team Bondi, to tell the truth... I'm a videogame editor, here in Italy, and i give a high score to LA cause i tested it on a slim... Now im doing the game at home... And i cant go forward cause this orrible "overheat issue"... I dont eat it: this is a LA NOIRE problem, not PS3, and i dont trust is a real OVERHEAT problem. Let me explain (sorry for my not perfect english, by the way). On PS3 40gb, 20gb and 60gb (but, in some unlucky case, even 80gb), LA NOIRE CRASH The GPU. No way to explain in a different manner: my console is cold, air pushed outside is cold, the LA NOIRE bd is cold, but it shut down like overhelming... What i think? That its not a temperature growning by time, cause there some place where the game crash: it will shut down, or freeze itself. But, listen this: i can wonder whit the car for HOURS, and NOTHING APPEN! The game crash in specifically place, for now the BLACK HOUSE (5th case), where you have to collect the ticket, the photo and some other thing. Then, the next case when you have to talk with the wife of the victim: there are 2 house on the map, and the game crash at both,,, The firse crash (black house) i go forward first making the fan go faster: to do this, i play a while the submission on the map, for about half an hour, then i came back to the 'black place' and finally go for it... now, im blocked again, and I CANT UNDERSTAND WHY ROCKSTAR DONT TAKE OUT A PATCH TO SOlVE THIS UNBELIVABLE PROBLEM..... Or she and Sony wanna get rid of all ps3 fat????????3 months have passed, and no patch for this! I'll use it like a boomerang, and make the best i can to retreat my valutation to this game.............................

In poor words, it crash when you have to reach a close ambient... everythings goes fine on the crime scene and the gun and run session, and you can walk for all the city withouth a single crash.... Go to the widow of the case, and boom... i think that the GPU is too much stressed cause the install is too little (1,4 g? Insane...)..... Anyway, there are a lot of things i cant say cause i'm a journalist but to sell this game withouth an advice on it like " For PS3 SLIM", it's like to steal for me... I'll talk of it on any magaziine i can, here in Italy!Cause i've tested LA NOIRE on a lot of FAT PS3 40 & 60., and it crash on ALL OF THOSE... That's unaccetable. They first accused Sony (but now, with 3.70 firmware, is the same than 3.61... Even worse!), then they say it was LA NOIRE the problem. Then, they say it wasnt LA NOIRE nor Sony.... Can you explaine why i can play game like God of War 3, Uncharted 2&3, RAGE on ALL PS3 model, whithouth GPU Crash???????????????? And 3 months later there isnt a patch to solve this????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????​??????????????????? What a shame on you, guys....
