The greyed-out streets aren't explorable parts of the map. There's a little of downtown that can't be seen in that image, but that's basically the whole map.

If that's true, then why would they do that D:

RE: Social Club integration
Why would they grey-out the roads? Because the game's map is meant to be part of Los Angeles, rather than self-contained world like Liberty City.

If that's not what you meant then I don't know Smile

Because it's likely that since you are always on the case, you can't go past the point of jurisdiction. That's my guess.

I made a thread about this, that they'll handle the invisible wall issue with jurisdiction.

Obviously there have to be borders and this is the way they've chosen to implement them. In my opinion, it's better to be limited to part of what appears to be a much larger city than to have a disproportionately small Los Angeles surrounded by water, for example.

I hope they are no invisible walls the way the map is shaped. Does no one else realize that we will constantly be turning corners just to crash into a invisible wall ? Tongue

RE: Social Club integration
@Ausben, let's hope not, hopefully ir will be back up. In the picture you attached with the clues found, that is a nice amount of investigating to do, 12 clues to be found for this case. I can see it know the much harder cases later in the game probably will have upwards of 20 or so clues to find, we will be searching for a while, going back to the scene and interviewing mnay people on specific high profile cases.

@Dave, If i recall the project 1947 gentleman had stated the map was a boomerang shape, or do you think he saw something he didn't? However you did note that the bottom right of this specific map released is still missing some roads in the bottom right, do you like this map choice from what you have seen?

RE: Social Club integration
@Hurrikane Nathan (1947 Project) described the map as 'an oblong affair, kind of a boomerang shape', which fits the image pretty much perfectly.

Do I like the map? Absolutely! Downtown L.A. in the late 40's was a fascinating place. I could - and probably will - spend hours just taking in the sights and visiting places that no longer exist. I can't help thinking that people who don't know about the history of the city will be missing out a little bit.

I could go on, but that talk is probably best suited to the Map thread rather than here.

Yup, the suit will be unlocked when you sign in to the Social Club from the main menu in-game. You can sign up at http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ if you're not already a member.

More info on L.A. Noire's Social Club features can be found here.

Off topic. I hope you can place markers on the map and it'll draw out the route for you. I feel like i'll always be going diagonal.

On topic. I took care of my social club info last night so I'll be able to sign in and get my Chicago Lightning Suit.
