As a Playstation gamer getting this game, I'm not concerned about PSN - The New Blueguy - 05-12-2011 02:41 AM
You know I was just thinking about why I love the single player experience. You get to get so wrap up these characters and these worlds and I'm sure LA Noire will not disappoint. But then, I've reading across the Internet whether it's the little barbs about the game not having multiplayer or how some are hoping that PSN comes back soon and I think to myself, damn. And I sigh a sigh of absolute relief knowing that I nothing to complain about here.
We'll have 25-30 hours of main story to get through before going on fetch quests for movie canisters and landmarks and then chasing down the bad guys in purse snatchings and bank robberies all seperate from the main story. All before we can even blink at first official post-release DLC (not counting pre-order stuff obviously).
And it makes me feel good that there's no multiplayer because then all I'd be hearing from fellow PS3 gamers is complaints about playing multiplayer because PSN is down, and even then we'd get more complaints if once they get to play, it turns out to suck.
So, for anyone anticipating DLC on PS3. Just step back and look at what you have in front of you.

Hey guys, I don't have a PS3 and I am curious about something: With PSN being down, does this mean you guys won't have access to DLC, or is DLC independent of the PSN?

Glad to see some people still have sense, I too am glad there's no multiplayer in this game. Slapping multiplayer on this game wouldn't work.

Yea I am just looking forward to the experience of a great world in front of us, nothing will get me down, no down intended psn, but your not bringing me down with you, i am happy and will remain that way, and look forward to getting the game and opening it up and placing it in my ps3, and the enjoyment that ensues like it is xmas all over again when you were little.

Yeah, we will have to wait for the PSN to come back up to access our pre-order DLC.

Actually, it turns out that Sony denied the May 31st deadline, so hopefully that means they will have it up sooner than the 31st...

Two things.
A) I hope Sony does it right and sets up a safe and secure network.
B) I hope the pre-order DLC codes don't have a time limit on them.

thats no problem i remember using the deadly assasin outfit in red dead like a year after it came out
i just hope i can dowload my dlc and use it in my first play through

DLC vouchers dont normally run out until 3-5 years later so you should be good, and im glad to see this thread, i haven't got a PS3 (yet) but im glad there are a few PS3 gamers that are letting Sony do there job to try and make it more secure, It's only some DLC and if you do 100% the game before PSN is back up just think of the excitement of going back to LA Noire and do a new case when its back up. Unless of course you spam the hell out of the game like i will

The codes are simply links. As long as the content does not get pulled out of the Store, the vouchers should be valid.

This also why i want this game now becuase im bored and have nothing to play becuase of the network down but if i had the game now then i wouldnt care about the network it will probably come back online when i get the game and not acually need it.

I dislike games that focus on Multiplayer first, before Singleplayer, focusing on Multiplayer (e.g. Call of Duty, Medal of Honor) makes for a small campaign and less work into the missions. Assassins Creed is starting to do this aswell and that will soon decline in Single Player content. Luckily for us Rockstar/Team Bondi are focusing on Singleplayer, and I hope it stays like that. I love Playstation online. I still like Call of Duty but it can be completed in a matter of hours.

Nope sorry not buying all this Sony hippie crap. Yea theres no multiplayer in LAN but what about our DLC? Sure we can get them later however Sony fucked up and I was really hoping for a full experience as much I could possibly get. FFS our information was compromised and now this BS because of pathetic security? May fricken 31st. Those people in charge of network security should be doing overtime. Sorry this isn't really directed at you. I know you're just trying to be positive but on the other hand I'm just tired of people making excuses and posting this "look at it this way" bullcrap to cover up these rich assholes mistakes, while in our jobs if we do the least bit wrong fahgetaboutit. Just a little rant as reminder to those jerks up there.

I was hoping to spend some time in the beginning of the game doing the Badge Pursuit challenge, familiarizing myself with the areas the game lets you access straight away, but it seems I won't have the opportunity to do that. It's a shitty situation and I'm not happy with Sony, but I'll just have to be patient.
